Last month I told you my story – about why I attend SIMposium year after year after year. But I also told you not to take my word for it.
Today, I’d like to share a few thoughts from other SIM members who value SIMposium as much as me:
"I have attended SIMposium year over year for the last 11 years and have found it to be the premier conference for CIO's. The quality of the speakers, the ability to network with other CIO's, the venue and the entertainment is all top notch. For these reasons I also send some IT leaders from my organization who, year over year, have the same positive experience that I have. What's more is the profit made from the event goes back into SIM to further SIM's mission. Through the 11 years that I have attended the conference I have had a few promotions. There is no doubt that the people I’ve met at SIMposium as well as the learning were key in enabling me to advance my career." - Jim Knight, CIO, Chubb
"I look forward to SIMposium each year as a real re-start opportunity. Re-start my creative thinking by collaborating with trusted colleagues from different industries all around the country. This offers a prospective that can’t be duplicated at a local conference. SIMposium also offers a unique venue to meet the up and coming stars in the IT field via the large number of Regional Leadership Forum attendees at the conference. I try to connect with the RLF graduates to get a prospective on the future. Hope to see all of you at this year’s event!" - Steve Pickett, CIO, Penske
"Aside from the great content and speakers, networking is an important aspect of SIM events. I attend my Chapter’s monthly meetings to strengthen my local network and I attend SIMposium to strengthen my wider network. After attending SIMposium for a few years, I’ve started to see some of the same faces I have seen in the past. SIM is large, but not so large that I get lost in the sea of people – SIMposium is still an intimate event, allowing me to benefit from direct connections." - Jeff Skulsky, Vice President, Regeneron
"SIMposium is the one conference I attend each year…it is not too large to get lost in and has many opportunities to network with other CIOs like me.
I have been a SIM member for over 10 years and have attended about 7 SIMposiums. Over that time, I have focused on developing knowledge needed to address gaps or learn new competencies to become a CIO.
I am proud to say that I have developed many contacts outside my SIM chapter via SIMposium. We connect each year at SIMposium to catch up on new projects and endeavors as well as continue to develop friendships.
I like SIMposium because of its size and that the sessions are practitioner driven." - Jana Branham, CIO, ACH Food Companies
