CRITERIA
1. Leadership: How does the CIO demonstrate a strong leadership focus and the cultivation of that skill throughout her/his team? (1500 char limit)
2. Business and IT alignment: Explain how effective the CIO is at establishing strong ties with the company's business, and how he/she promotes this relationship through the executive levels of the organization. (1500 char limit)
3. Strategic clarity: How does the CIO communicate their technology plan and business value throughout the organization? Explain how the CIO communicates the technology roadmap to various constituents and teams so that employees understand how technology contributes to the company's success. (1500 char limit)
4. Innovation: How does the CIO foster and promote creative thinking within the organization that affect business efficiencies, generate revenues and/or establish a competitive advantage? (1500 char limit)
5. People focus: How does the CIO 1) hire great people, 2) develop them professionally and 3) create a cohesive team culture? (1500 char limit)
6. Community Involvement: Where is the CIO actively involved in the community? (1500 char limit)
7. Open Question: Is there anything we should know about the nominee that we didn't ask, or that you didn't get a chance to describe, in the preceding questions? (1500 char limit)
TIPS:
When compiling the submission for the CIO of the Year, please try to:
Express achievements not only in technology results, but also in how the project/effort delivered business results. (contribution to revenue growth, expense reduction, etc.)
Answer all questions fully.
Judging methods may preclude judges from having access to all questions. References to previous answers may not be visible to all judges.
While embedded links to web content documents and videos are helpful, judges may not be in a position to access the link while reviewing the nominee qualifications.
Judges will only consider the information contained in the nomination during their evaluation.
